Pebble Beach Golf Course

Pebble Beach Drive Sign

Playing a round on the Pebble Beach Golf Course is a mandatory inclusion on any golfer's bucket list! With spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, famous holes, and a rich history make this one of the premier courses in the country.

With everything else aside, one of the best features of the Pebble Beach Golf Course is that it is public! As long as you have the money for greens fees, virtually anyone can play a round here.

Location

The course is located in Pebble Beach, California, which is on the Monterrey peninsula. Geographically, it is about 120 miles south of San Francisco, and 325 miles north of Los Angeles.

There are also three other golf courses in the immediate area that are owned and operated by the same company. These courses are The Links at Spanish Bay, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and Del Monte Golf Course.

History and Facts

The course was designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant, and was opened in 1919.

It has been the home of 5 PGA Tour United States Opens: 1972, 1982, 1992, 2000, and most recently in 2010.

It is an 18 hole course, par 72, and the course length 6828 yards.

Greens fees are typically $495 per round.

The Course

Situated on one of the most picturesque sections of the California coastline, the Pebble Beach Golf Course is truly a sight to see!

Featuring some of the most famous holes in all of golf, Pebble Beach will have you reaching for your camera as often as your driver. The par three seventh hole has you facing directly out to the Pacific Ocean, as the waves crash against the coast. The hole is short, yet difficult as you will be battling the wind.

The eighteenth hole follows alongside of the coast as you make your approach, pretending you are in the lead at the final round of the U.S. Open.
