You certainly came to the right place! The Best Golf Vacations page is where you need to be if you are looking for information about the best courses in the United States (and eventually, abroad!).
The United States is home to some of the most famous golf courses if the world. Famous individual courses include Pebble Beach, Augusta National, and Torrey Pines just to name a few. Some of these courses are open to the public, while others (like Augusta) are private. You'll need to have some serious connections to play there, but it is definitely the dream course for many weekend warriors.
My goal is to provide you with information regarding the top courses and golf destinations to make your vacation planning a little easier. Also, you will be able to use my partner site, GolfNow.com, in order to get great deals on tee times.
But what if you want to play on multiple courses?
If this is the case, then somewhere like Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is made especially for you! With the most golf courses in a relatively close area makes this a must for anyone interested in the best golf vacations.
There are other great areas in the U.S. for golf vacations such as Arizona and even Las Vegas where you will be able to play on a variety of courses during your stay.
Things To Remember When Planning Your Golf Vacation
Plan Ahead! Specific things that need to be addressed are: who's going, accommodations, rental car/s, food/beverages, golf courses, and holes per day just to name a few!
Once it is established exactly how many people are going, accommodations will need to be discussed. If you are on a budget, staying at a hotel close to your targeted courses may be the best bet. However, if you have a large number of people and/or if money isn't that much of an issue, consider renting a house where everyone can stay together.
Having everyone under one roof has its advantages. It makes it very easy to analyze the day's round and do a little trash talking before the next round as well. You also have to advantage of a kitchen. This will make eating more convenient as you can stock up on food for the entire week the day you arrive. Also, you don't always have to travel out for meals if you don't want to.
It's smart to have each day fully planned out prior to the trip. Line up all of the courses and get your tee times a month or two prior to the trip. This way, once you arrive, all you need to do is show up at the course and have fun. Also, if you are playing two round in one day at different golf courses, you can space out the tee times appropriately.
As long as you plan sufficiently ahead of time, and have a great crew going with you, it's impossible not to have an incredible vacation!
One of the most famous courses in the world is the Pebble Beach golf course, located along the California coast. There are many great things about this golf course, but one of the best things is that it is a public course. As long are you can pay the (hefty) greens fees, you can pretend you are playing in the U.S. Open.
In addition to Pebble Beach, there are also three other golf courses in the area that are owned ans operated by the same Pebble Beach group.
